Design Communication-Model Making

I've never done a single architecture model during my life... When I was watching tutor's pdf, I was amazed and was thinking that maybe I can just take it as those paper cutting and folding craft classes I had in the junior school.
But, it's just not that simple!

So I learnt as a design tool, making models is to explore space, form, materials, scale, context; as well, to communicate a design to a third party; and to prevent costly mistakes.

According to this course module, we will make one physical gray card model as an understanding of Rudin House, which was one of the earliest work of Herzog& de Meuron.
At first glance one might say that the shape and external appearance is a very typical home. But s Moneo once remarked regard to the work, "seems forced and an inevitable reflection on the history, present here, leading to the architects to transform this painful memory, which would be tempted to describe as schizophrenia, causing a coupling with typological melancholy. "

Situation
The house is located at the foot of a hill between houses within a conventional central European private urbanization in the city of Leymen, Upper Rhine, France¹.

Based on the knowledage I could find, plus the given plan/elevation prints, I started to build.

Eventually, with my crafty hands and professionally trained brain, I made this little gray house, which made me quite proud of myself. :)

We were asked to build it in 3 movable layers.

Spaces
Inside the house stands out as a central element of transition and interior-exterior and back the great staircase that goes from floor to the ceiling, where the vertical axis of the house and the element that organizes.
This is along the longitudinal axis of the building, leaving the stays on either side of the journey and ends under the light of a large skylight that takes light in terms of economy and the asymmetry caused by the mismatch of the axis of the ridge with the axis of the ladder.
Stays of greater wealth space is precisely at this end of the tour: the main room with his attic and the dream bathroom extremely vertical cross-section.
During the model making process, I tried my best to follow the principles, which I never did during all the study in the past years. But I realized that, interior architecture and design is very much of science and rational job. I gotta have to really wake up... Hopefully next year I will be able to make such accurate and beautiful models.
